Manual Gartner adds "The British Expeditionary Force's landing at the Kalamita Bay was also shot on the Black Sea coast, but not on the Crimean Peninsula, of course. In fact filming took place at the then military restricted area called Burç Plajı (Burç Beach), located west of Kilyos village, Sarıyer district on the European side of Istanbul Province.
